Playing with Prints and Colors

In classic Seattle fashion, blacks and grays make up the majority of my closet and aside from my obsession with gingham, my print collection is limited to a striped tee. I guess I’m in the process of redefining my style after getting caught up with…well, life, and damn it feels good! In my last haul I found myself branching out and actually ordering pieces like this yellow duster and these checkered trousers. I really can’t tell you what inspired this neutral-lover to make such a bold move but I am so happy I did!

Today my lovely friend Hannah and I spent the morning eating some delicious brunch at the London Plane and exploring the beautiful brick walls in Pioneer Square. I knew I wanted to wear one of the new pieces I bought but I never thought these two would end up together!

Putting this look together in the morning was a long┬áprocess (you do not want to see the pile of clothes I have on my floor right now). Since the pants are a looser fit, pairing it with a long-sleeve, high neck bodysuit seemed like the right move. At this point, I loved the sophisticated “business” vibe I was getting but it definitely needed to be balanced out with something more delicate – which is when I decided to throw on the duster.

There’s such a rush in experimenting with pieces and styling something you feel fabulous in, don’t you agree? Until next time, xoxo!

I’ve been dying for a pair of plaid pants similar to these and you make them look SO GOOD! I might just make the plunge and buy them now!
