In classic Seattle fashion, blacks and grays make up the majority of my closet and aside from my obsession with gingham, my print collection is limited to a striped tee. I guess I’m in the process of redefining my style after getting caught up with…well, life, and damn it feels good! In my last haul I found myself branching out and actually ordering pieces like this yellow duster and these checkered trousers. I really can’t tell you what inspired this neutral-lover to make such a bold move but I am so happy I did!
Today my lovely friend Hannah and I spent the morning eating some delicious brunch at the London Plane and exploring the beautiful brick walls in Pioneer Square. I knew I wanted to wear one of the new pieces I bought but I never thought these two would end up together!
Putting this look together in the morning was a long process (you do not want to see the pile of clothes I have on my floor right now). Since the pants are a looser fit, pairing it with a long-sleeve, high neck bodysuit seemed like the right move. At this point, I loved the sophisticated “business” vibe I was getting but it definitely needed to be balanced out with something more delicate – which is when I decided to throw on the duster.
There’s such a rush in experimenting with pieces and styling something you feel fabulous in, don’t you agree? Until next time, xoxo!
